When God seams silent & prayer seams unanswered

There are a couple things I would like to share that I have discovered in my walk that hinder or obstruct my hearing from God. I would like to say I believe God is relational and is always wanting a conversation with his people. With that being said it is true that sometimes we have a hard time hearing God speak to us. the Lord I believe gave me a few of the reasons we do not hear Him. You have to believe God is for any prayer to work for you.

1. We do not hear God simply because we have not truly ask Him about what we want answered. James 4:2 states you lust and do not have. you murder and covet and cannot abtain.you fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. and with that scripture it brings up several points we need to discuss about not hearing God such as:
2. We ask with the wrong motives, James 4:3 states You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss (with wrong motives), that you may spend it on your pleasures. (some versions say own lust)
3. Unconfessed sin will assuredly hinder you from hearing from God 1Peter 3:12 states For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. Threrefore be faithful to do 1John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
4. We also have to have a believing heart. Matthew 21:22 states And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive , If you have faith.Mark 9:23 states And Jesus said to him,”If you can ! All things are possible for one who believes.”
5. If you have fault with another it can hinder you hearing from God and hinder your prayers. Matthew 5:23-24 states 23Therefore if you bring your gift to the alter, and remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the alter, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. We absolutly need to make right our relationships to be in perfect communication with our Lord Jesus.                                                                                                                                                                                      I want ot leave you with 5 questions you can ask yourself if your having a hard time hearing from God in your life  ( barrowed  these)                                                         1. Is there something you honestly need to confess to Jesus today? especially if it hurts to admit it.                                                                                                                         2. What prayer have you stopped praying because you did not get the answer soon enough or on your time line?                                                                                             3.What if the silence your experienceing is Gods invitaion for you to grow?             4. Are you willing to trust a God who waits; even when you do not understand why?                                                                                                                                                     5. What is one small way you can stay connected to God today? especially when you do not want to or feel like it!
